Two scans, two numbers

Those scores disagree. I leave both on the page. GridinSoft and MalwareTips were behind a challenge page on this check, so I am not repeating older figures from them.

The directory does not host the games

The public footer says games run on their creators’ websites. A clean scan of ported2browser.com does not grade the next site. The FIFA Street 2 directory card says that host page shows ads. The older GTA V page at playgta5.com was showing a Monero address on 4 Nov 2026. Treat each launch as a new site.

Mobile popups

A Portmaster comment reads: “When I press launch game on mobile it tries to give my phone cancer and sends me to all sorts of malicious sites.” The same thread says the browser was Safari on iOS and the game was Balatro. A reply said the host “truffled” behaves that way and that a content blocker still lets a few tabs through. That is one conversation, not a lab report. If a page opens extra tabs, close them and do not type a password there.

Copyright takedowns

The Modern Warfare 2 card says the build was taken offline after a DMCA notice from Activision. On 4 Nov 2026 the directory also showed a SEGA takedown mark. SavePoint’s advice is to buy the game when it is still on sale. A Portmaster comment cites MGM v. Grokster as a reason links are not automatically safe. That is a reader’s opinion, not a ruling about this directory.

Did any antivirus engine flag the directory?

PCrisk’s 31 Oct 2026 scan says 0 of 92 engines flagged ported2browser.com. That is one lab’s reading of the directory, not of every linked game site.

Why do phone users report popups?

A Portmaster comment says pressing launch on mobile opened many unwanted sites, on Safari for iOS, after tapping Balatro. Another reply named the host site “truffled” and suggested a content blocker.

Is the directory free?

The directory itself is free to browse. The public site links a voluntary Ko-fi. I did not find a subscription price on the homepage.

Are the games legal to play?

Rights differ by project. SavePoint says buying the official version is still the best path when a game is on sale. This guide does not supply game files.
